Literature
The topos of the duel, a recurring motif throughout much of the literary tradition, is widely prevalent in nineteenth- and twentieth-century writing, acquiring distinct ideological and stylistic implications depending on its application. This research aims to investigate and analyze the theme across various genres and subgenres—ranging from narrative fiction and poetry to comedy and melodrama—to verify its presence and observe its modes of expression.
